     My odyssey through various fields of study has given me a complex and dynamic picture of human nature.  I’ve come to view people as carrying a mosaic composition of sometimes conflicting self-parts.

     These days I live on a sailboat for part of my week, enjoying the company of my wife Helen, seeing patients and writing about our common human struggle for intimacy. I hope you find my ideas interesting and helpful.
